Name: Anne Frasier
Where do you write? Home. Usually in bed, but also standing at a counter, or sitting on the floor.
Can you write when traveling? No. I can’t write when I’m tired or distracted. I can sometimes come up with plot ideas when I’m traveling, but I’ve never been able to actually write while traveling.
Can you work with music or the tv on? No. And I can’t write with anybody breathing anywhere in the house.
What are the five things you must have when you’re working?
Solitude
laptop
Internet, for those research questions that constantly come up.
Tea
No immediate demands on my time
What’s the strangest place you’ve ever been when struck by a flash of inspiration and started scribbling notes down for a story idea?
I can’t think of a strange place, but I’ve been known to call my answering machine and leave bits of dialogue when I’m away from home with no paper.
Anne bought a church in the fall of 2007 and is converting it into her residence.
