Tom: 70- lots of violence, .22 slugs to the forebrain, but in a nice way
Sandra: To avoid a spoiler, I’ll call it the triple murder – that put it up to an 80 for me.


Swearing
1 means no penance, 100 means you’re putting truckers to shame.





Tom: X-rated, naughty to the max, will curl your grandpa’s ear hair.
Sandra: All things considered, the language didn’t stand out as being particularly bad.


Sex
1 means a nun can read it without blushing and 100 is… Wait, is this actually erotica?




Tom: G-rated, baby, take the whole family.
Sandra: Pretty tame, I’d say.


The Fido Factor
1 means animal lovers won’t be offended. 100 means PETA’s planning a book burning in protest.





Tom: No animals were harmed during the writing of this book.
Sandra: Hmmm. It was a little dicey for those cats for a few days…


Too Stupid To Live
1 means your characters have brains and use them, and 100 means it’s a wonder they weren’t killed 1000 times over.




Tom: These are brilliant criminals who just happen to live in seedy motels and never have a pot to piss in.
Sandra: Chase wasn’t the smartest when he got upset, and then, there was what happened with Lila… And the semi-botched getaway Jonah was in at one point. Not to mention what happened right at the beginning of the book… Some of these guys were pretty dumb, but full credit to Tom for killing some of them off accordingly.





The verdict? I’d keep my eye on Pic if I were you. Probably not the type to pull a .22 on you, but he might try to steal the good silverware.
